Description
The specimen shows spleen. The size of the spleen is within the normal range. The cut surface is
red, beefy and firm, consistent with chronic venous congestion. Incidentally, there is an area of
'perisplenitis' occurring as a white plaque on the surface of the spleen; this is a common incidental
finding of unknown aetiology.
